Democrats Against Homechoolers?
Oct 10th, 2008 | By Jessica Parnell | Category: General Homeschool PostsIn his speech, Warner accused pro-lifers, homeschoolers, and members of the National Rifle Association, as threatening to “what it means to be an American.”
Warner said that “one of the things you’re going to see is a coalition that has just about completely taken over the Republican Party in the state [Virginia] and if they have their way, it’s going to take over state government. It’s made up of the Christian Coalition. It’s made up of the right to lifers. It’s made up of the NRA. It’s made up of the home schoolers.”
If he sees the Christian Coalition, right to lifers, the NRA and homeschoolers as threatening to this great county, then I can’t help but wonder where his colleagues stand.
Is it threatening to what it means to be an American when we exercise our right to free speech, to educate our children, to stand for our beliefs?
Or is it only threatening to exercise those rights from the perspective of our founding fathers–the individuals who emphasized that those rights came from “Almighty God?”
Be careful my fellow homeschoolers–how we vote in this next election could have a major impact on our freedom and right to educate our own children.
We must get our questions answered–where do the candidates stand on homeschooling?
