Have you ever read, “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” or “If You Give a Moose a Muffin?” That mouse and that moose characterize my oldest child to a T.Just yesterday, she wanted to earn some money and volunteered to mop the floor for me. In the process of mopping the floor, she came across a ski boot that should have been in its place. Well, that spurred her on to the computer where she just had to find out what the ski conditions were at our local ski hill.When she saw the live cam, she remembered that she wanted to create a video recording for a contest in her youth group. Before she could press forward with that, I jumped in and sent her back to her mop.This time, she made it all the way to the eat-in area before she was distracted by a homeschool science project that was sitting on the counter. The sound wave project made her feel the need to turn on some music. Once she opened the stereo cabinet, a homeschool flier caught her eye and she felt the incessant need to begin writing an article for the homeschool newspaper.I once again stepped in and sent her back to her mop. With a few more interruptions (organizing our shoe baskets, feeding the dog and flipping through a magazine that was sitting on the table), she finally completed the project.Now, just imagine what her homeschool academics look like!
